Our Story
Sea Shed Coffee & Surf, inspired by the coastal lifestyle, was founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Dan and Rebekah, who have operated a Long Line Surf School on Benone Beach since 2012. Starting as a small 6-seater coffee bar, it has grown into a beachfront hub for specialty coffee and surf rentals. In 2022, Sea Shed expanded to a store in Downhill Forest, offering a serene garden space and resident peacocks. Featuring Europe’s finest independent roasters, locally made surfboards, and events, it celebrates the north coast lifestyle.
Our Space
Sea Shed Coffee & Surf offers two unique settings. Benone features vibrant interiors with a glass front showcasing stunning views of the dunes and Benone Strand, complemented by a relaxed outdoor seating area. Downhill embraces coastal-inspired décor, a mature garden with a stretch tent for summer, and a cozy snug room with a wood burner for winter warmth. Both stores are dog-friendly, with Downhill adding a touch of charm thanks to its resident peacocks, creating inviting spaces for every season.

Their passion for coffee and its ability to bring people together complements their love for promoting the stunning north coast to visitors from near and far. Our Bakes
At Sea Shed Coffee & Surf, our food is crafted with care by founder Dan, who uses local ingredients to support regional producers. We focus on traditional, simple recipes that perfectly complement our exciting range of specialty coffees. Our standout items include a moist carrot cake, coconut macaroons, and our family recipe almond tart. The tart features a unique, rich flavor, while our light egg sponge, filled with whipped cream and fresh oranges, adds a delightful touch to our offerings.
